Pharmaceuticals that are sensitive to oxygen usually require the use of nitrogen to replace the air in the void space of the package or container during the filling production process to prevent deterioration due to oxidation of the pharmaceuticals when exposed to oxygen, thus increasing the stability/shelf life of the pharmaceuticals. The effect of nitrogen filling can be affected by many factors, such as the volume of the product container, the volume of the liquid or powder product to be filled, the speed of filling, the flow pressure of sterile nitrogen, the number of volumes of nitrogen to replace the oxygen in the container or in the residual space at the top of the container after filling at the specified flow pressure or flow rate, and so on.
